I had a wonderful time on the Inscape Quest Podcast: Horsepower with Heart “Ep.8: Racing Hearts: Exploring Horse Racing”, alongside Donna Brothers, and our host, Trudi Howley. As described on the podcast, the episode features “two trailblazing women, retired jockey and sport analyst for NBC Sports, Donna Brothers, and former jockey, racing manager, and consultant, Euki Binns,” exploring their personal journeys, the dynamics of the sport, and their shared passion for horses. We discuss women’s involvement in the sport of thoroughbred horse racing and equine welfare issues within the sport.
Trudi Howley is a board certified, licensed psychotherapist specializing in trauma and elite performance in Denver, Colorado and Wellington, Florida. She is also a lifelong horsewoman who has been breeding and competing in dressage at the highest levels for multiple decades out of Wellington, Florida. With her unique background in both mental health and equestrian sport, her Inscape Quest Podcast: Horsepower with Heart series explores the horse–human connection in a way that is both thoughtful and informative. The podcast is geared towards broadening both our internal and external perspectives and features a diverse roster of guests with one overarching passion shared between us: our beloved horses.
It’s a wonderful series, and it was a pleasure to be part of it. The full recording is available via Spotify, below, as an Apple Podcast, or on your preferred platform. I hope you enjoy listening to it, and if you do, please share it forward!
